理化性质
化学名称为“4-羟基-3-甲氧基苯甲酸”,分子式C8H8O4,分子量168.14,白色针状晶体,无气味,能升华,不分解。熔点210℃。易溶于乙醇,可溶于乙醚,微溶于水。香草酸与三氯化铁作用不显色。制法:以香草醛为原料通过氧化(氧化银)或碱熔(氢氧化钾,240℃以下)可得,或从3,4-二甲氧基苯甲酸部分脱去甲基而得。用途:作试剂,制香料。
化学性质
戊酸是无色液体,具有腐败气味,b.p.186.2℃,n20D 1.4100,相对密度 0.939,在20℃水中溶解13%,溶于乙醇和乙醚等有机溶剂。
生产方法
其制备方法是可以用1-戊醇电解氧化或用甲酸和丁烯反应而制得。反应方程式:CH3(CH2)3CH2OH[电解]→[O2]CH3(CH2)3COOH
